Conservatorship and Guardianships
Legal proceedings in which a Court appoints a person (Guardian) to have the legal authority and duty to care for another’s person or property, especially because of the other’s infancy, incapacity, or disability. Guardianship are generally used for children and Veterans.
Legal proceedings in which a Court appoints a person to manage the estate or affairs of someone who is legally incapable of doing so, either by mental and/or physical incapacity. Conservatorships are generally used for adults.
